Hi, I'm Cherie - I’m a wife, a mum, and an online business owner — but my story began as a farmer’s daughter, one of four children raised on a remote tobacco, maize, and cattle farm in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). My “backyard” was native trees, granite outcrops, and hills that rolled endlessly toward the great Zambezi Valley. Those wide skies, simple slow living, and deep connection to nature have shaped who I am ever since.

Life has taken me far from that farm.  Through my husband's work, we have lived across four continents and five bustling capital cities. Those years gave me perspective — and clarified what truly matters to us.  Today, my husband Gordon and I deeply value a slower way of life.   Sunshine, warmth, time  outdoors — whether it’s walking in nature or swimming in the ocean, which I find deeply cleansing.

Having an entrepreneurial spirit, over the years, I’ve co-owned and managed small businesses, including a whole-foods muffin business, and spent much of my working life in sales.  What I’ve loved most is building something meaningful — connecting with people, creating value, and doing work that feels aligned rather than rushed or forced.

At heart, I’m guided by a love of nourishing, home cooked real food and timeless wisdom that supports lasting wellbeing. Elephants captivate me with their intelligence, caring nature and deep social bonds feel like a reminder of what really counts.

Discovering new bushland or hidden beaches and camping along the way - remains one of my favourite escapes. Evenings by the fire-pit, with an enamel cup of tea in hand — listening to the soothing sounds of the night, remind me how little we truly need.

Building my online business through Launch You has been exciting and transformational. It gave me the tools and freedom to focus on what matters most — unshackling Gordon from his 40-year corporate career.  It allowed us to begin shaping a life that honours where we’ve been, where we are now in Australia, and our enduring connection to Africa.

I created Earn While Roaming — for people in their 50s, 60s, and beyond who feel there’s something more — more freedom, more security, more choice — but don’t want to start from scratch. You don’t need tech skills. You don’t need a product. Just an openness to begin, one step at a time.
